The Ring Bridge is required for your Steplights to function. If you have a Bridge, you can control all of the lights in a group and be notified when a light moves.

Do you need step lights on every step?

If you place lights on every step, it will cause the lighting to be too bright, which will make it hard to see the surrounding steps. It’s hard to see where you’re stepping when there are dark patches, so you don’t want too many steps between lights.

Can I leave Ring Floodlight on all night?

The Ring Floodlight can continue to work. It can be turned on and off with the Ring app.

Why do Ring lights need a bridge?

Whenever motion is detected, the Ring Bridge has to group Ring Smart Light together. You can pair your Ring Smart Lights with other Ring Smart Lights, Ring doorbells and cameras, and choose to use an Amazon device.
